The main advantage is comfort. No matter what kind of cushion you use, sleeping on a hammock is much more comfortable than sleeping on the ground. I sleep better in a hammock than in my own bed.
Another is easy to set up. I can hang up the large camping hammock for a little over a minute. When I was camping in a tent, I lay on a hammock while they were still organizing tent poles.
In humid weather, it is difficult not to encounter the water and mud in the tent. But there is no such problem with hammocks.
With hammocks, there is no need to search for flat, rootless, and rock free tent fields. You only need two sturdy trees approximately 12 to 20 feet apart.
The hammock has a small volume and light weight. My hammock and tarpaulin weigh less than 3 pounds, lighter than all expensive ultra light tents.
If it's hot outside, you'll get the best ventilation. Tents can become stuffy and hot in summer, with condensation inside. In cold weather, you are not on the cold ground. Of course, insects are more likely to attack you, and you are more susceptible to rain. Compared to tents and sleeping mats, lightweight camping hammock are also lighter to carry.
